If you own a high-energy dog, you already know the drill. You sit down after work, feet up, and within seconds there is a rope toy in your lap and a Kelpie staring at you like the day has only just begun. You love him to bits, but you are knackered, and he is nowhere near done.

ActivePaws started with a simple, frustrating problem. The dogs that need the most stimulation are the ones their owners struggle most to keep up with. A big walk in the morning, a full day of work, and by evening the zoomies start anyway. The barking at nothing, the pacing at 2am, the shredded cushion you find when you walk in from the shops. Not because the dog is bad, but because a clever, active brain with nothing to do finds its own entertainment, usually your skirting board.

So we looked hard at what most dog owners were actually buying. A drawer full of squeaky toys that lasted five minutes. Flimsy chews that split on the first serious go. Puzzle feeders that a smart dog cracked and then ignored. The pattern was always the same: novelty for a moment, then back to the graveyard of ignored toys in the corner, and back to you feeling like you are failing him.

We decided the standard had to be higher.
